Ann Lurie
Ann Lurie's Millennium Challenge to AERA in 1999 was
responsible for a great leap forward in our investigation
of the Lost City. We thank Ann for her continued interest
and support, as we admire her work to
fight infectious diseases in Kenya. |

Special thanks to Bruce Ludwig who began supporting
Mark's Lehner's work in the very beginning of the Giza
Plateau Mapping Project. For many years all major

On site
Special thanks to David Goodman for designing and instituting
the GPMP survey control network, for donating many field
seasons of his time as GPMP Chief Surveyor, and for
arranging the loan of equipment from the SOKKIA Corporation
of Overland Park, Kansas.
Reis Ahmed Abd al-Basat, and in previous seasons his
late brother Shahat Abd al-Basat, did an excellent job
of supervising the specialist workers and skilled excavators
from Luxor. We could not accomplish all that we do at
this large excavation site without the Saidi (Upper
Egyptian) team. Their unflagging energy and humor adds
to the joy of working in Egypt. We also thank Abd al-Hamid
Kotb (Giza site engineer) and Mohammed Musilhi (loader
operator). |

Thanks to our friends and colleagues at the American Research Center in Egypt, including Director
Dr. Gerry Scott and his staff. Special thanks to Mr.
Amir Abdel Hamid and Mme. Amira Khattab. Our field seasons
would be impossible to set up without their tireless
efforts on our behalf.
We thank John Sanders of the Oriental Institute, and
Peggy Sanders, of Archaeological Graphic Services, for
years of computer design and graphics that provided
our first computer modeling of the Giza Plateau, and
for many illustrations over the years. |

Gheoghan and the firm of Leon Despres in Chicago for
legal help in forming AERA as a corporation.
Since joining our excavation as a volunteer, Brian
Hunt has helped launch AERA onto new vistas by writing
a long-range business plan and providing major development
work. We thank and applaud Brian for authoring
and producing this web site. Brian's work has been
a gift of personal time and effort to AERA, for which
the entire team is deeply grateful. |
