Cleveland, Ohio – AERA Associate Director and Senior Epigrapher Dr. John Nolan will be speaking at the Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC) this weekend to mark the opening of the exhibit Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science.

The traveling interactive exhibit displays how science recovers and reconstructs many ‘lost’ aspects of ancient Egypt life, and also gives museum-goers a first-hand look at some of the work carried out by AERA. The Field Site section of the exhibit contains video interviews and interactive stations that focus on pottery, clay sealings and animal bones found at the Lost City of the Pyramid Builders site on the Giza Plateau.

Dr. Nolan will be the guest speaker at a gala dinner event at GLSC on Saturday, January 26th, where he will discuss the technologies that are used in the field and how they have aided in new discoveries and a better understanding of ancient Egypt. For ticket information, please contact the GLSC.

Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science was developed by the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, OH, and built by the Science Museum of Minnesota in cooperation with the Science Museum Exhibit Collaborative. The exhibit will be at the GLSC through April 28th.
